On August 24, our Club met for the fourth time in this Rotary Year. Our speaker talked about U.S. China relations and what the future holds. Meanwhile, we had quite a number of visitors: we welcomed back Past District Governor YC Ho who yearned to join our meeting after years of absence due to Covid-19; Immediate Past District Governor Norman Lee, who came specifically to thank Past President Antonio and Pat for making a significant donation to The Rotary Foundation at the tail end of this past Rotary Year; Helen and Natalie from our service partner Yuk Chi Resource Centre; and Crystal Lee, former tutor and Rotaract Advisor of our Rotaract Club of HKU Lap Chee College International.
On August 21, our Club gathered together at New Life, a social enterprise restaurant in Wanchai for an evening of good food, great conversation, and lots of singing! Thanks to Past President Ricky, everyone got to hold a microphone and show off their vocal skills. We also welcomed Ariel Chu, a visitor originally from Taiwan who is now working in Hong Kong.
On August 18, President Jason and Past Presidents Grace and Samuel visited Yuk Chi Resource Centre to discuss our strategy for our upcoming collaboration.
On August 20, our Club and members supported the kickoff ceremony for District’s Mental Health Project. In attendance included Past President Lily, who is the Project’s chair this year, Past President Mark (Project Committee member), and President Jason.
On August 10, our Club met for the third time in this Rotary Year. It was great to see many members: new, old and ex-members! We were especially glad to see ex-members Past Presidents Peter Ngai, Kennedy Tang and Theresa Chan, and our lovely Rotary spouse Coco!
