President David also promoted various future events, including District Learning Assembly, District Conference, Anniversary Dinner of Rotary Club of Taipei Mingmen etc. Our speaker was President Nominee Donald Mak of Rotary Club of Hong Kong Northwest. He talked about teaching wing chun, a form of southern Chinese martial art popularized in part by Bruce Lee and Donnie Yen, sub-Saharan countries of Mozambique, Eswatini and Lesotho. His mission was to give hope to Africans by enhancing self-defense, physical, mental, and spiritual development. He also aimed to prepare participants for a globalized future with China as their potential pivot point out of poverty.
On April 1, President David led a strong delegation with Past President MK, Past President WT, Past President Eliza, and Immediate Past President Jason to attend the Club Installation of our sister Club, Rotary Club of Taoyuan Southeast. They were also showered with great hospitality by our sisters. Past Rotary International President Gary Huang was also spotted in attendance.
