On March 10, Charter President Patrick, Past President Grace and Immediate Past President Jason attended Past Presidents Dinner, organized by our District.
On February 27, our Club invited William Shum, a Past President of Rotary Club of Kowloon Tong and founder of Memorigin, the first Hong Kong brand which only produces tourbillon. William gave a condensed version of how he started his business. The regular meeting was also attended by our RCC members, who gave a report of their past activities.
On February 23, our Club celebrated Rotary’s birthday by participating in District Bowling Tournament x Blind Bowling. Honorary Member Vivien was the event’s Guest of Honor, while our Club sent the largest contingent of Rotarians, Rotaractors and Interactors, with 5 bowling lanes total.
On February 13, we were most glad to invite Past President Dennis Ho of Rotary Club of Innovation Hong Kong to share with us his experience as a physicist at the European Organization for Nuclear Research and his interest in cosmology.
In the weekend of January 25, members and spouses enjoyed a two-day excursion to Zhuhai, led by Past President Ka Hing and Immediate Past President Jason. it was two days of non-stop hiking and eating. Some of us even managed to squeeze inside Sam’s Club to get a thing or two!
On January 24, Past President Grace, Past President Mark, Immediate Past President Jason, and Rotarian Ka Man together with a dozen Interactors from the Interact Club of King’s College attended Hong Chi Morninglight School’s Lunar New Year Gathering. Interactors performed lion dance, explained the spirit of Lunar New Year, and managed games booths. Rotarians sang a song celebrating the Lunar New Year during a full day of fun and inclusivity.
On January 23, Master Au shared with us the fortunes in the Year of the Snake. On occasion, we also asked members to write Chinese “fai chuns” for an upcoming service project with Hong Chi schools.
On January 23, President David together with several members visited Caritas’ Community Living Room in Kwun Tong. We also managed to serve to grassroots laborers soups that were sponsored by our Club, and made by laborers who learned how to make the soup via our Club’s sponsored talk on healthy eating.
On January 9, our Club invited film director Ho Cheuk-Tin to share with us his recent experience making films in Hong Kong about Hong Kong. Several visiting Rotarians were in attendance, including: Past District Governor Eric Chak of Rotary Club of Peninsula, Past President Douglas Hsia of Rotary Club of Walnut Grove, Past President Elizabete Fong of Rotary Club of Macau, Past President Donald Chan of Rotary Club of Golden Bauhinia Hong Kong, and Immediate Past President Tony Leung of Rotary Club of The HUB Hong Kong.
On December 20, our Club organized a Christmas Party at The Fullerton Hotel, our first event at the hotel.
