On April 23, Club Assembly was held to share plans for the coming Rotary Year. Past Presidents Grace and Angela, together with other members, attended the session, which served as an important platform for alignment and forward planning. During the Assembly, members discussed upcoming initiatives and outlined plans for working closely with our service partners. The exchange of ideas reflected a strong commitment to sustaining and growing the Club’s impact in the community. In addition, Past President Angela shared that she has formed a dedicated team to work on the Club’s 40th Anniversary Party, an exciting milestone that members look forward to celebrating together. The Assembly was both productive and encouraging, setting a clear direction for the year ahead while reinforcing the Club’s spirit of collaboration and service.
On March 20, many members of our Club warmly welcomed our sister club visitors with great enthusiasm and care, making special arrangements to greet them at the airport upon arrival in Hong Kong. Members made two separate trips to the airport to receive our guests, ensuring that each group was personally welcomed despite differing flight schedules. In the evening, some of the visitors enjoyed a relaxing boat cruise, taking in the beautiful harbor scenery. To accommodate arrival times, two separate welcoming dinners were also organized, allowing all guests to experience the hospitality and fellowship of our Club. The day was filled with a jolly and festive atmosphere, marked by laughter, meaningful conversations, and the renewal of long-standing friendships. It was a wonderful start to the visit, setting the tone for deeper connections and shared Rotary spirit in the run up to the next day’s Club anniversary party.
On February 12, our Club hosted a dinner meeting featuring our very own Rotarian Sammy Au as speaker. Rotarian Sammy, as professional fortune teller, explained what the year of the Fire Horse means to all of us. Plenty of spouses and guests joined the meeting, which also doubled as our Club’s Chinese reunion dinner (團年飯).
On September 18, our Club had a fellowship outing at Hong Kong City Hall — not an ordinary outing but a chance to see our Charter President Patrick perform on stage! The occasion was a fundraising concert for Hang Seng University of Hong Kong, where we sponsor a Rotary Community Corps.
On May 8, our Club met at Regal Hong Kong Hotel for our regular lunch meeting. During the meeting, members shared episodes of crisis management. We all realized that all of us can think on one’s feet effectively and decisively, even in the most twisted circumstances!
In the weekend of January 25, members and spouses enjoyed a two-day excursion to Zhuhai, led by Past President Ka Hing and Immediate Past President Jason. it was two days of non-stop hiking and eating. Some of us even managed to squeeze inside Sam’s Club to get a thing or two!

On October 19, several members visited Past President Ka Hing and Flora in Gold Coast. Everyone enjoyed a good evening of fellowship, great seafood, and fireworks!
On June 30, the last day of the Rotary Year 2023-2024, members and families trekked all the way to the border to visit Hong Kong Seeing Eye Dog Services. There, we learned about the premier training ground for guide dogs in Hong Kong. We also experienced how to navigate the world without sight, and learned how guide dogs learned to become human’s best companion. Several of us trekked farther north to Shenzhen for an evening of hotpot to close out the Rotary Year.
As a tradition, our Sister Club Rotary Club of Taipei Mingmen held their 26th Anniversary Celebration on May 2, 2024 at Taipei Garden Hotel (台北花園大酒店). We have five representatives attending including President Jason and Sara, and Past Presidents Dora, Webster and Mark.
