On March 9, our Club met for our third Club Assembly of the Rotary Year. The most exciting highlight of our meeting was the attendance of Past President MK and Lina. Past President MK, having escaped death by lightning strike, duly presented his Treasurer report. President Elect Jason, as Chair of the Assembly, gave details of the upcoming Scout Trail Walk and the upcoming 36th Club Anniversary Celebration Party. President Eliza did a recap of Club and District events in the past quarter, and gave updates to our ongoing District and Global Grants. Past Presidents Mark and Dora, and Rotarian Ka Man also stood up to share. Potential member Summly also joined our lunch gathering.
Our newest member Rotarian Ka Man and her family joined President Eliza and the District PPE Tour on February 26. During the tour, participants understood how disastrous it could be if we continue to waste food. The tour around O Park 1 facilities was also interesting and eye-opening. The workshop at Green@ Islands making dehumidifier using baking soda and coffee grounds was very interesting too.
A total of 12 Club members, ex-member Past President Theresa and Charter President Patrick’s guest Wong Ka Man attended the regular lunch meeting. All ladies wore red by coincidence, while most men wore blue. Of course, our Speaker Rotarian Sammy, in his bright-red Chinese suit, presented the 2023 Year of the Rabbit feng shui to us. President Eliza would especially thank our Duty Rotarians: Charter President Patrick and President Elect Nominee David for arriving well before 12:30pm to greet members and guests!
