On April 23, the Rotary Community Corps of Patrick SC Poon Amity College at the Hang Seng University of Hong Kong held its Handover Ceremony, marking a meaningful milestone in its continued development. Charter President Patrick, Past Presidents Grace, Eddie and Lily attended to show their support. During the ceremony, RCC members received their new pins, symbolizing both recognition and renewed commitment to service. They also presented a thoughtful summary of their activities over the past year, highlighting their dedication to community engagement and teamwork. Looking ahead, the members shared their plans for the coming months with enthusiasm and clarity, demonstrating a strong sense of purpose and direction. The event was a simple yet inspiring gathering, reflecting the spirit of Rotary in nurturing young leaders and fostering service above self.
On April 23, Club Assembly was held to share plans for the coming Rotary Year. Past Presidents Grace and Angela, together with other members, attended the session, which served as an important platform for alignment and forward planning. During the Assembly, members discussed upcoming initiatives and outlined plans for working closely with our service partners. The exchange of ideas reflected a strong commitment to sustaining and growing the Club’s impact in the community. In addition, Past President Angela shared that she has formed a dedicated team to work on the Club’s 40th Anniversary Party, an exciting milestone that members look forward to celebrating together. The Assembly was both productive and encouraging, setting a clear direction for the year ahead while reinforcing the Club’s spirit of collaboration and service.
On April 18, members of our Club joined a meaningful fundraising night walk organized with Scouts Island Region at Tai Tam Reservoir. President David, Past Presidents Grace, WT, Dora, Lily, Mark and Jason, together with around two dozen participants from our Rotary family, took part in this special evening activity. The night walk offered a unique opportunity to learn about nature and the importance of conservation. Participants were introduced to the principles of “leave no trace,” reinforcing the responsibility we all share in protecting our environment. Interactors from King’s College and St. Clare’s Girls’ School, as well as Rotaractors from the Rotaract Club of HKU Lap Chee College International, joined the event, adding youthful energy and enthusiasm to the experience. Assistant Governor Wilson also participated in support of the initiative, further highlighting the collaborative spirit of the Rotary community. Surrounded by the calm and beauty of Tai Tam Reservoir at night, the event was both educational and inspiring, strengthening bonds across generations while promoting environmental stewardship.
On April 18, members of our Club attended District’s Club Leadership Learning Seminar, previously known as the District Training Assembly. Past Presidents Grace, Angela, Lily, Mark and Jason, and Rotarian Joanna participated in this important learning event. During the seminar, members gained insights into the new presidential message for the Rotary Year 2026–27, as well as Governor Elect Jimmy’s priorities and vision for the District. The sessions provided valuable perspectives on leadership, service, and the evolving direction of Rotary. Notably, Past President Lily led one of the breakout sessions and also served as a panelist during an afternoon plenary session, contributing her experience and expertise to fellow Rotarians. The seminar was both enriching and inspiring, with everyone learning a great deal throughout the day. As the program concluded, members promptly made their way to Tai Tam to support our Club’s fundraising event, demonstrating their continued energy and commitment to service.
On April 9, many members of our Club gathered for a fellowship meeting filled with warm exchanges and reflection. The session provided an opportunity for members to reconnect and look ahead together. Past President Grace shared some of her ideas for the coming Rotary Year, offering thoughtful perspectives on how our Club can continue to grow and serve with impact. She also gave a brief recap of recent highlights, including our 39th Anniversary Party and the visit to the 30th Anniversary Party of our sister Club, Rotary Club of Taoyuan Southeast. These occasions were fondly remembered as meaningful milestones that strengthened friendships and partnerships. The meeting was relaxed and engaging, reinforcing the strong sense of camaraderie within our Club and setting a positive tone for the months ahead.
On April 1, members of our Club traveled to Taiwan to attend the 30th Anniversary Party of our sister Club, Rotary Club of Taoyuan Southeast. Past Presidents Grace, WT, Dora, Mark, Eliza and Jason joined the visit in celebration of this important milestone. Our sister Club members warmly greeted our Club delegation at the airport on March 30 and hosted a wonderful welcome dinner, setting the tone for a memorable and meaningful visit. During the Anniversary Party, Past President Grace delivered a speech affirming the strong friendship and enduring commitment between our two Clubs. Members also enjoyed a full day of fellowship and activities on April 1 before the evening celebration, further strengthening the bonds that have grown over the years. The visit was both joyful and significant, reflecting the lasting partnership and shared Rotary spirit between our Clubs.
