On February 26, President Elect Victor Lau of Rotary Club of The HUB Hong Kong visited our Club to explain to us in detail the upcoming joint-club project. The project leverages the knowledge-base and resource network of Rotary WASH (water, sanitation, and hygiene) program to deliver clean water to approximately 50 families in rural Thailand. President Elect Victor Lau explained that, before committing on the project, of which our Club is a supporting partner, he and several of his Club members traveled to rural Thailand to assess the needs and feasibility of delivering and installing WASH equipment there.
On February 12, our Club hosted a dinner meeting featuring our very own Rotarian Sammy Au as speaker. Rotarian Sammy, as professional fortune teller, explained what the year of the Fire Horse means to all of us. Plenty of spouses and guests joined the meeting, which also doubled as our Club’s Chinese reunion dinner (團年飯).
On February 7, President David, Past Presidents Grace, Angela, Lily and Jason, and Rotarian Joanna joined “輕馨鬆Zone”, a workshop designed for caregivers. The workshop was co-organized by our Club and Rotary Club of Neoteric Hong Kong. The purpose of the workshop was to encourage caregivers to share their feelings to other caregivers, and to find common strategies for physical and mental relaxation.
On January 22, our Club welcomed Mr. Harry Poon, our speaker who talked about essential cybersecurity for our mobile devices. Mr. Poon gave us tips on how to protect ourselves in this digital age, and why being vigilant at all times is important. We also welcomed two visiting Rotarians: District Secretary Dominic Wai of Rotary Club of Star Avenue and Rotarian Friederike Langer of Rotary Club of Marina City in Singapore.
On January 8, our Club convened for a dinner meeting at Regal Hong Kong Hotel. Our speaker was Ms. Helen Leung, Service Director of Yuk Chi Resource Centre in Tuen Mun. Ms. Leung updated our members with the Centre’s latest developments, and gave us a glimpse of upcoming projects and initiatives.
On December 18, Charter President Patrick attended Intercity Meeting 2025, where Past Rotary International President and current The Rotary Foundation Trustee Chair Holger Knaack honored Charter President Patrick’s contribution to the Foundation over the years.
On December 11, our Club conducted its Annual General Meeting, when our upcoming club leaders were elected. After Annual General Meeting conducted, our Past President Webster shared his story about successfully running for a Legislative Council seat.
On November 26, Past Presidents Grace, Ricky, Dora and Jason attended The ONE Humanitarian Award Gala Dinner 2025. On behalf of our Club, Past President Grace received a certificate of appreciation from the organizers for supporting the award.
On November 20, our mother Club, Rotary Club of Hong Kong Island East, hosted 4-Clans joint meeting. President David led our Club’s delegation. The speaker of the evening was Dr. Lo Chung-mau, Secretary for Health of the Government of Hong Kong. Dr. Lo talked about the latest development of the healthcare system in Hong Kong.
On November 13, our Club welcomed Dr. Matthew Chan, who shared with us an alarming topic: the disappearing glaciers around the world. Dr. Matthew Chan talked about the impending ecological disaster, and what we can do to slow/stop it. Dr. Matthew Chan previously talked about a similar topic at District Preserve Planet Earth Seminar.
